THE ROAD NOT TAKEN BY ROBERT STANZA BY STANZA SUMMARY Stanza 1 Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both And be one traveller, long I stood And looked down one as far as I could To where it bent in the undergrowth; Summary: The poet was walking on a road when he reached a place where the road split into two different paths. He felt sad because he could not walk on both roads. He had to choose only one. He stood there for a long time, looking down each road as far as possible. He wanted to see where they led and understand both paths. But he could not see beyond the bend because the roads curved and were covered with trees.
